- Job Description Summary Adjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the on-going development of instructional strategies that promote student success.
Requirements
- Minimum of at least 4,000 hours occupational experience in a target job for the program being taught within the last five years.
- Five or more years of experience in Wildland, Prescribed fire or combination of both required.
- Must meet NWCG Instructor Qualifications as a Lead or Unit Instructor, dependent on the class offered, i.e. minimum FF1 qualified as a unit instructor for S130/S190/L180 is required.
- Upon hire, must maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable
- Must meet NWCG instructor qualifications for course of hire required.
Nice to have
- Associate degree or the degree/licensure level at which the adjunct instructor is teaching at minimum (Bachelor's degree in related and appropriate field preferred).
- Teaching or training experience is preferred.
Skills
- Travel: Instructor position often requires off-site teaching, fieldwork, and travel for professional development.
- Driving: Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle.
- Work Environment
- Work must be completed in person.
- Work is typically performed in a classroom.
- Work is often performed outdoors during both daytime and evening hours, and in all weather conditions in and around traffic.
- Work environment may change based upon college needs.
