About the role
- Braun Intertec is seeking a geotechnical drilling assistant to join our Bloomington, MN, office.
- The Drilling Assistant has primary responsibility for performing subsurface investigations for geotechnical and environmental purposes.
- A subsurface investigation can involve collecting soil, rock, groundwater samples, and logging the field data.
Responsibilities
- Maintain necessary compliance documentation relating to the operation of commercial motor vehicles
Requirements
- strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to problem solve and work in a dynamic work environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Must be available for travel up to 50%, occasionally on short notice
- Ability to work outdoors, in a field / construction work setting, in all types of weather conditions and terrain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis, 75lbs occasionally
- Ability to pass a driving / road test
- Ability to pass a pre employment drug screen, criminal background check and motor vehicle record check
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, customers, and supervisors, while fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment
- Dependable, the ability to maintain reliable attendance and work a full-time schedule which sometimes includes weekend and night work
- A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
Nice to have
- Prior geotechnical drilling experience is preferred, but not required
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- The ability to obtain a CDL license within 90 days is preferred
Compensation
- $45,000.00 - $74,000.00
