About the role
- The Maintenance Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC equipment and all plant electrical control systems.
- The role requires strong technical knowledge in electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation, as well as a commitment to quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a thorough understanding of plant safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a thorough understanding of plant safety policies and procedures; perform all work in accordance with safety standards and assist others in understanding electrical safety requirements.
- Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship in all job duties.
- Support the installation and startup of new manufacturing or support equipment, including specification and installation of electrical services, startup and adjustment, documentation compilation, and training of maintenance personnel.
- Compile and maintain documentation for all electrical and controls systems, both new and existing.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC and manual machine shop equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Maintain backups of control software and parameter data in both electronic and paper form.
- Develop and implement software changes to improve processes or equipment performance.
- perform all work in accordance with safety standards and assist others in understanding electrical safety requirements.
- Specify hardware and/or develop software for new equipment applications.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in programmable logic controller (PLC) diagnostics and programming.
- Experience in CNC machine control diagnostics
- programming knowledge preferred.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Strong computer and software application skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- CAD experience is a plus.
