About the role
- Waste Connections is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Railroad Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team.
- This role is responsible for operating heavy equipment to load, unload, and stack intermodal containers from railcars and trucks.
- Pay range; $20.00 to $23.00 an hour DOE The position is a Day Shift working Monday through Friday 7am-5pm with Saturdays 7am-5pm working 45-55 hours a week.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of container movements and equipment usage.
Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating reach stackers or similar equipment.
- Familiarity with rail yard operations and intermodal logistics.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

- The ideal candidate will have experience with reach stackers, a strong understanding of rail yard operations, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Preferred Skills:
