About the role

  • Located five miles from downtown Boston, Tufts University is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the highly-competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
  • Tufts student-athletes participate in 30 varsity sports, 32 club sports and a number of intramural sports.
  • The Department of Athletics provides student-athletes with a dynamic, transformational experience on and off the field.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the Head Coach at practices, team meetings and at competitions to coach the Coed and Women's Sailing programs.
  • Partners with Head Coach to ensure an appropriate split of time traveling with the Coed and Women's Sailing Teams to competitions and provide consistency in coaching, rostering decisions, and overall student-athlete experience.
  • Performs an assigned secondary duty for the Department of Athletics.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-4 years of sailing coaching experience

Nice to have

  • National level collegiate playing experience as a sailing student-athlete
  • ICSA or ISSA coaching experience
  • Experience working with video editing software for film review
  • Athletics associate head coaches are employed by Tufts University for 10 months out of the calendar year.
  • Compensation shall be pro-rated based on the portion of a full-time position for which the staff member is employed. (10 month range: min-$36,083, mid-$45,083, max-$54,083)
  • Minimum $43,300.00, Midpoint $54,100.00, Maximum $64,900.00
  • generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
