About the role

Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee owned consultant engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Survey Crew Chief to join our Team in Richmond, VA office.
The Candidate will work directly with local survey managers having extensive experience performing construction stakeout in the Richmond area.
Salary $30-$38 per hour with optional overtime Company Truck - Direct travel from home to jobsite w/ occasional office check-ins.

Responsibilities

Perform survey computations with Data Collector as it relates to construction stakeout
Provide office support for the preparation of cutsheets and stakeout exhibits
Candidate will also perform boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys and other related duties as assigned
Lead and mentor junior crew members in the field to ensure quality and safety standards.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and design teams to interpret plans and resolve field challenges.

Requirements

5 or more years of experience performing construction stakeout surveying
Must have experience in construction stakeout field surveying procedures
Experience operating GPS-RTK equipment.
Demonstrated leadership experience in the field managing a field crew
Experience operating Robotic Total Station and data collector. Prior experience with Leica robotic total stations and data collectors is strongly preferred
Strong communication skills-verbal and written-for client and team interactions.
Proven ability to adapt to dynamic construction environments and troubleshoot on-site.
Positive attitude and professional bearing.
OSHA certification
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
