About the role
- We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Industrial Construction to lead large-scale capital construction and infrastructure projects within a manufacturing environment.
- This individual will oversee projects from concept through commissioning, managing multiple concurrent initiatives with budgets exceeding $50 million while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, utilities, mechanical infrastructure, and facility construction, along with exceptional leadership, project management, logistics coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple industrial construction and facility infrastructure projects simultaneously, with individual and combined project budgets exceeding $50 million.
- Lead projects through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Review engineering drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, P&IDs, construction documents, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and governmental requirements.
- Manage contractor performance, RFIs, change orders, project documentation, and construction quality.
- Identify project risks, troubleshoot technical challenges, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics teams to develop equipment procurement strategies aligned with project schedules.
- Coordinate long-lead equipment purchases to ensure materials arrive in accordance with construction milestones.
- Develop staging, storage, and material handling plans for large industrial equipment and construction materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 5-7+ years of project management experience leading industrial construction or manufacturing facility projects.
- Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Required Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of medium voltage electrical distribution systems
- Expert knowledge of 480V three-phase electrical systems
