About the role

  • Job Title: Afterschool Program Assistant Schedule: Temp.
  • Vision: That Latino students and families achieve life-long self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develops supplemental teaching material and strategies to help students practice
  • Supports the collection and input of data for all programs
  • Creates and/or updates class syllabi or other communications as needed
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned
  • Candidates over age 25 who are willing to drive a small bus/van to transport up to 14 students to afterschool, in addition to filling this role, will receive an additional $2/hour above their determined pay rate.
  • Ability to confidently lead a group of adults or children

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within diverse families
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as during parent/or community events Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Must have own transportation and hold a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency troubleshooting common issues with Chromebook platform

  • Preferred hours are Monday-Thursday, 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
  • Bilingual native Spanish speaker preferred
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with parent coaching is preferred

Compensation

  • $10k-$20k
