About the role

  • The Business Data team is a cross-functional group of data practitioners including Technology Platforms, Data Engineering, Data Science, and Scaled Insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of data engineers, providing mentorship and leadership within the function.
  • Build the future of the data engineering practice to deliver value to internal and external stakeholders while leveraging cutting edge technologies to dramatically accelerate quality, scale, and depth of delivery.
  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of critical data from various sources.
  • Drive the evolution of the Business Data platform by leveraging modern data technologies like Spark, Airflow, and Databricks.
  • Collaborate across organizational boundaries with Product, Marketing, and Sales to convert business needs into technical requirements.

Requirements

  • A degree (BS+) in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years leading Data Engineering teams.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and expert-level SQL.
  • Proven experience in data modeling and working with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) and leveraging AI to rethink Data Engineering delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • 15+ years of work experience involving quantitative data analysis and complex problem solving. Experience working with product and GTM teams strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience building and maintaining data-intensive applications and sophisticated data pipelines.

Compensation

  • In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $187,500.00 - $299,500.00 annually.
  • This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia the standard base pay range for this role is $178,100.00 - $284,500.00 annually.
  • The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.
  • In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.
  • Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.
