- Chemours is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our growing Advanced Performance Materials team!
- This position will report directly to the Global Technology Manager, TeflonTM PTFE at our Newark, DE location.
Requirements
- 2 years of laboratory experience preferably in chemistry
- Excellent record keeping and notebook skills are required
- Ability to read and understand complex Standard Operating Procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications with a focus on data entry, such as Word, Excel, SharePoint
- Ability to wear an air-line respirator, work in close quarters, and climb ladders/steps donned in full PPE
- Ability to lift 45 lbs. and move drums/containers using correct ergonomic methods
Nice to have
- The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
- Familiarity with using glove box, electrochemical devices
- Associates degree or higher in electrochemistry or chemistry, or 3+ years related industrial experience
Skills
- Lab and pilot scale operation of handling, weighing, mixing, and processing of various chemicals.
- Safe execution of lab work of wet chemistry experiments using corrosive, toxic, and flammable chemicals.
- Documenting and auditing specific operating, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Troubleshooting mechanical processes, controls, analytical, or laboratory issues.
