In this role, you will serve as a legal advisor to the business, independently drafting, negotiating, and managing a broad portfolio of commercial agreements with our agent network, carriers, and vendors.

Develop and maintain standard contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines to scale the contracting process.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and Finance, to structure deals that balance legal risk with business objectives.
Manage multiple high-priority matters simultaneously, including research, litigation management, and transactional matters, while adjusting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Provide additional support to the legal department as needed.

Behind the scenes, our team of over 300 corporate employees provides unwavering support, ensuring that everyone involved in the logistics process receives the care and attention they deserve.
You will report directly to the General Counsel and partner closely with leadership across the organization.

Minimum of three years of relevant legal experience in contract drafting and negotiation, either in-house or at a law firm.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound legal discretion with minimal supervision.
Our ideal candidate is a licensed attorney who is an intrinsically motivated self-starter with strong business acumen and a collaborative mindset.

Active license to practice law and in good standing (North Carolina bar admission preferred or eligibility for admission by comity/reciprocity).
Logistics, transportation, supply chain, or employment law experience preferred, but not required.
Employment law experience is a plus.
