Responsibilities
- Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance
- support internal and external audits
- Partner cross-functionally to align accounting with business operations and strategic initiatives
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and team development within the accounting function
- Provide leadership and oversight of the financial accounting function, ensuring accounting operations support accurate and reliable financial reporting.
- Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance; support internal and external audits
- As Director of Financial Accounting, you'll lead core accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and shape the processes and teams that drive financial excellence across the organization.
Requirements
- 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting or technical accounting
- 5+ years of experience in P&C insurance or a regulated financial services environment
- 5+ years of leadership experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, insurance accounting, and internal control frameworks (SOX)
- Proven ability to assess complex transactions and provide sound accounting judgment
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA strongly preferred

- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
