- The Journeyman Pipefitter is responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, and testing of piping systems used in commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Install pipe supports including hangers, brackets, clamps, and restraints in accordance with code
- Install and maintain mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, meters, and controls
- Perform hydrostatic, pneumatic, and leak testing using appropriate diagnostic equipment
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe and working condition
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a pipefitter in commercial or industrial mechanical construction
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and P&IDs
- Experience working with HVAC, hydronic, refrigeration, and/or process piping systems
- Knowledge of piping codes, installation standards, and OSHA safety practices
- Valid driver's license required
- This role requires advanced knowledge of piping materials, installation methods, blueprint interpretation, and industry codes.
- Strong skills in measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembling various piping systems
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and layout work accurately
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting 50+ pounds
Nice to have
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
