Responsibilities
- Flex is the diversified manufacturing partner of choice that helps market-leading brands design, build and deliver innovative products that improve the world.
- Reporting to the Hardware Manager the Electrical Designer is responsible for the preparation of electrical design packages including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and bill of materials (BOMs) for assigned projects.
- Prepares electrical design packages for assigned manufacturing projects.
- Design electrical schematics, layouts, and drawings for electrical systems including HVAC systems, lighting, receptacles, fans, fire alarm systems, and battery systems using AutoCAD.
- Design AutoCAD drawings of three line and wiring drawings for switchgear projects.
- Review electrical control house wiring design and update drawings for red line corrections; generates "as built" drawings from production redlines and notes at end of project for customer records.
- Work closely with engineering and production team members to answer design questions that arise during the engineering design and production process.
- Provide suggestions on areas of improvement to standardize design and increase the efficiency in the manufacturing process.
Requirements
- Proficiency with National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE/ANSI Standard
Nice to have
- Read and understand customer specifics for electrical components, assemblies, equipment, and systems.
- generates "as built" drawings from production redlines and notes at end of project for customer records.
- provides timely updates for drawing revisions, while following the CTS Revision Control processes.
- Works collaboratively with the electrical project engineer and other technical professionals on assigned projects.
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
- At least 2 years experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including schematics and electrical product guidelines.
