About the role
- The Fleet Technician II is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of various light and heavy-duty equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Correct vehicle deficiencies within skill level (e.g. change, replace, and repair tires, brake systems, bearings, and light systems), and escalate high level deficiencies that require a work order to management
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair on various equipment, including light and heavy-duty trucks, utility trailers, specialty trailers, power generation equipment, and other specialized equipment
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
- Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, painting, and installing decals
- Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs accurately and in a timely manner

Requirements
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
- Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods
- Ability to work in various settings with moderate to loud noise levels
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including short notice travel.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.

Skills
- Commercial driver's license (CDL) required
- Ability to operate shop machinery and equipment
- Initiative and accountability for completing tasks accurately and safely
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
