About the role
- Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, located in Maitland, FL, is dedicated to promoting a stewardship ethic toward Florida's birds of prey and their habitats through medical rehabilitation, interactive education, and practical research.
- individual will learn the aspects of animal husbandry related to raptors in a captive setting, raptor conservation, and Center operations.
- This position is part time on-site at Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, Maitland, FL.
Responsibilities
- The Senior Coordinator, Raptor Conservation and the Raptor Conservation Manager at Audubon Center for Birds of Prey will provide support and supervision to the Raptor Trauma Clinic intern.
- Clean and maintain raptor housing.
- Through a collaborative, bipartisan approach across habitats, borders, and the political spectrum, Audubon drives meaningful and lasting conservation outcomes.
Requirements
- Prior experience with handling wildlife or animal medicine is highly desirable.
- High School Diploma
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Commitment to Audubon's mission and programs and Respect for wildlife, conservation, and Florida's environment.
Nice to have
- Current student or recent graduate (within 3 years) background in animal science, biology, or pre-veterinary coursework is preferred.
Compensation
- $19.00 / hour
