About the role

  • This role will be based in Bethesda, Maryland.
  • This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
  • Victor Insurance Managers Inc., a subsidiary of Marsh, is the world's oldest and largest underwriting manager of specialty insurance, professional liability, and risk management programs.

Responsibilities

  • Profitably manage an existing portfolio of renewal business and underwrite new opportunities daily.
  • Engage with our carrier partner to develop bespoke coverages and determine pricing for complex risks.
  • Work with both in-house and outsourced support teams to service portfolio.
  • On a limited basis attend industry trade shows and/or travel to meet with broker partners ( 2-3 trips annually )

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of underwriting experience or transferable work experience.
  • P&C license required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Victor is committed to building on 65-plus years of experience to develop products and services that address the complex needs of its customers.

Nice to have

  • Industry designations such as RPLU, CPCU, or ARM are a plus.

  • With annual revenue of over $27 billion and more than 95,000 colleagues, Marsh helps build the confidence to thrive through the power of perspective.
  • It handles more than $4 billion USD in premium on behalf of numerous insurance carriers, through a large network of more than 20,000 active insurance agents and brokers.
  • The applicable base salary range for this role is $65,300 to $139,000.
  • In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
