About the role

  • Brown Advisory is seeking a professional, energetic and detail-oriented individual to fill a Payroll Senior position within our Baltimore office.
  • The Payroll Specialist reports to the Payroll Manager and will be responsible for processing US bi-weekly payroll, along with monthly payrolls in the UK, Germany, Japan, Singapore and UAE.
  • The Payroll Specialist will ensure pay is processed on time and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures as necessary
  • Maintain and organize payroll records in compliance with established retention policies
  • Process, maintain and resolve all items related to Federal, State and local payroll taxes in a timely manner
  • Review workflows and implement streamlining measures

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Positive attitude and ability to interact well with others
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Nice to have

  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience with Payroll Software (Workday a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administrations, Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Experience processing UK payroll a plus
  • CPP Certification a plus

Compensation

  • Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
  • Prepare/finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll metric reports, annual compensation statements, and annual surveys
  • Prepare annual workers compensation insurance analysis
