Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end inventory and cost accounting processes, including accurate month-end and quarter-end close, reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Own COGS analytics and reporting, including development and maintenance of margin and variance analyses to support business decision-making.
- Analyze material, labor, external, and overhead costs to identify root causes and drive cross-functional, sustainable improvements.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and R&D to ensure accurate inventory existence, valuation, and completeness.
- Serve as a primary contact for internal and external auditors; support inventory-related walkthroughs, testing, and remediation.
- Design, document, and maintain effective SOX controls related to inventory and cost accounting, driving continuous improvement in control effectiveness.
- Support the design and implementation of automated COGS reporting, partnering with IT and Data teams to improve accuracy, timeliness, scalability, and reduce manual effort.
- Drive ERP and system enhancements and process improvements to strengthen data accuracy, automation, and internal controls.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive experience supporting in-house manufacturing, preferably in a Lab Service Operations environment.
- Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to effectively work with all levels and cross-functionally within the company including Senior Management.
- Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment.
- A background screening including criminal history is required for this role.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- CPA or MBA a plus.
- Integrated MRP systems knowledge preferred.
- Extensive ERP experience, Oracle Fusion inventory and materials movement experience strongly preferred.
