  • Aksia Overview Aksia is an alternative assets specialist, providing investment solutions for institutional investors globally.
  • Our business provides clients with advisory, investment management, and research services across hedge funds, private credit, private equity, real assets, and real estate.
  • The Managing Director / Director will join the Aksia Private Credit Team which is responsible for sourcing, due diligence, monitoring and portfolio management for our private credit managed assets and certain advisory relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sourcing and evaluation of new private credit investment opportunities with a focus on private credit co-investments/direct investments and secondaries
  • Manage external GP/sourcing partner relationships to drive additional investment opportunities
  • Manage mid-level and junior resources through the investment due diligence and monitoring process
  • Support client facing resources to provide market, portfolio and deal updates to Aksia's clients and investors
  • Develop a deep understanding of the firm's full investment capabilities across various Private Markets strategies (private credit, private equity, infrastructure, etc.) and methods of access (primary fund commitments, co-investments/directs, SMAs/joint ventures, secondaries, etc.)
  • Collaborate with legal, operations, risk, accounting and other internal stakeholders
  • As of October 31st, 2025, Aksia advises on over $326bn and manages $34bn of client capital.
  • We advise our clients on and manage on their behalf, strategies investing in primary funds, co-investment/direct investments and secondaries.
  • The Managing Director / Director is expected to lead all aspects of the investment diligence process, support portfolio management, provide guidance and leadership to more junior resources and to act as a representative of the Private Credit team to external stakeholders and clients.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience at a private credit or investment firm, a private markets allocator, an investment bank or related leveraged finance experience
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis/documentation, credit restructurings as well as understanding of primary/secondary credit fund due diligence
  • Ability to think analytically and critically
  • Strong work ethic, exhibiting a high degree of initiative, commitment and drive
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Incredible attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills, especially Excel, Power Point & Word
  • Team player with the ability to effectively manage other professionals

Compensation

  • The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future.
