Responsibilities
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to analyze power requirements and equipment loads for automation projects
- Design and select mechanical components for power distribution systems, including switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, motor control centers (MCCs), and enclosures
- Perform thermal analysis and heat transfer calculations to ensure proper cooling and ventilation of electrical equipment
- Develop and maintain detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models of power systems layouts using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software
- Specify materials and finishes for enclosures and support structures, considering factors like environmental conditions and weight loads
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure seamless integration of power systems with the overall automation project
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- You will play a key role in the design, optimization, and integration of mechanical components within our electrical control systems for automation projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in designing mechanical systems for power distribution applications.
- Strong understanding of UL and CSA to design low voltage equipment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 3D modeling software
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards relevant to power systems
