Skills

  • HVAC/R systems operation and systems control knowledge
  • Must be proficient in reading wiring diagrams both schematic and ladder
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing test compressor and HVAC/R system installations
  • Must have good written and verbal communication, computer, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position

  • If you are an HVACR technician looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! In this position, you will provide detailed testing support for our Technical Services Laboratories. You will perform non-routine and complex assignments, taking responsibility for planning, conducting, and completing a variety of projects with relatively limited scope. You will work closely with project engineers and team members to develop testing scenarios, techniques, and guidelines for HVAC/R systems and components. You may also assist with training and mentoring new technicians. Strong communication is essential, as you will regularly provide updates on project status to engineers, management, and team members. You will use sound judgment to solve problems, manage risk, and help drive successful project outcomes.
  • Install and set up heat pumps, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and components for prescribed testing
  • Install data acquisition instrumentation on HVAC/R systems and system components
  • Use data acquisition equipment to monitor system operation and performance
  • Use data acquisition software to set up, program, and calibrate instrumentation devices
  • Run prescribed Laboratory tests
  • Design and fabricate special test fixtures
  • Travel to customer locations to provide service and support for engineering needs
  • Work in a team environment, communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms, and demonstrate conscientious and ambitious behavior
