About the role
- Summary: The Chicago Tribune is seeking an Electrician to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Perform industrial electrical and electronic repair on all production and related equipment to a high standard of quality
- Continue to develop knowledge in order to stay abreast of emerging technology
- Troubleshoot PLC Logic and Analog Relay logic (Solid-state electronics) and AC/DC Digital Control Motor Drives
- Perform System Diagnostics and Calibrating procedures
- Ability to properly use tools to perform duties (Meters, scopes, hand tools, etc.)
Requirements
- Must be willing to submit and pass the necessary required checks
- Must be available for shift work.
Nice to have
- 2+ years of electrical experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred but an apprentice will be considered
- Ability to read/write and understand electrical schematics
- Understand AC/DC theory and electromechanical devices (Pneumatic/Sensor Controls)
- Basic understanding of PC-controlled interfaces (Fiber optic/Communication Networks)
Skills
- The Electrician will safely ensure all production equipment operates at optimum levels through proactive use of electrical skills.
- Educate other associates on safe and proper operation of the equipment while observing company policies and applicable laws.
- This position has a schedule of 7pm-3:30am with Friday/Saturday off.
Compensation
- The hourly range is $27.00 - $36.00.
- Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc.
