About the role

  • Reporting directly to the Supervisor Analysts and Manager, Analytical, the Analyst conducts routine sample analysis as part of the team accountable for the generation of analytical results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample analysis using assigned instrumentation, ensuring proper calibration, data accuracy, and compliance with QC requirements
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform routine verification of laboratory equipment
  • Support QC investigations and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and GLP standards
  • Maintain complete and accurate records to support data integrity and audit readiness
  • Coordinate with Supervisors to maintain laboratory supplies and resources
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
  • Collaborate with team members and support cross-training initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a laboratory setting
  • Food Safety Net Services (FSNS) - A leading network of ISO-accredited laboratories across North America, focused on food safety testing, operational support, and technical services for the food industry.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling, storage, and disposal practices
  • This includes running samples, operation and maintenance of analytical equipment, processing and reporting data, evaluating QC results and preparation of standards and samples as required.
  • The Analyst is also required to conduct maintenance and/or repairs under supervision, as well as, maintain communication with the Analyst Supervisors to contact repair representative(s) as required.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred
  • Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology, Environmental Biology, Chemical Technology, or similar discipline considered
  • Chemical Engineering degree may be considered

  • Actual pay within this range may vary depending on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
  • Additional components of total rewards-such as bonuses, benefits, or incentives-may also apply where applicable.
  • Salary Range for Pay Transparency
  • $23 - $24 CAD
