About the role
- PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Yard Jockey moves trucks and trailers around in loading area, spots incoming trucks, and assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
Requirements
- Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)
- Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift
Nice to have
- High School diplomas or equivalent preferred
- CDL License in good standing
- DOT certification
- Forklift certifiable
Skills
- Experience in driving tractor trailer
- Basic math and computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail
- Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
