About the role
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Communications Coordinator Co-op student to support strong collaboration to develop communications strategies, support execution and measurement of results to help understand what is working and what is not, in order to broaden the reach and deepen the impacts of projects and advocacy related to advancing Pauktuutit's mission with respect to Health, Abuse Prevention and Socio-Economic Development of Inuit Women across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Draft plain language messaging and content suitable for a range of audiences and coordinate the development and production of multilingual documents.
- Drafts content for departmental and corporate webpages and other social media platforms and manages all social media platforms and website updates.
- Develops internal communications plans and facilitates and fosters information sharing across Pauktuutit on strategy and specific projects.
- Receives, manages, and responds to communications and media inquiries under the direction of the Director of Communications.
Requirements
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise materials
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and PowerPoint, Adobe Suite and Canva
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience in planning and executing strategic communications campaigns
- Knowledge of the current media landscape, media monitoring, measuring and analytics
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in a discipline relevant to communications, journalism or public relations
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content creation, and graphic design software
