About the role
- Analysts will be assigned to either FIU or PIU based on business needs, with exposure to a range of investment functions, asset classes, and professional development opportunities within their assigned unit.
- This is a one-year contractual appointment.
- Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability, and continuous business need.
Requirements
- Knowledge of investment theory and practice, including portfolio analytics, performance measurement, risk analysis, and asset allocation concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analytical findings clearly and effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, team-oriented environment.
Nice to have
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on financial markets, asset classes, investment strategies, and investment managers.
- Contribute to research and analysis related to asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection, and other strategic investment initiatives.
- Prepare investment reports, presentations, briefing materials, and analytical memoranda for management and governance committees.
- Identify opportunities to improve analytical processes, reporting, data management, and technology-enabled investment capabilities.
- (ii) an undergraduate degree, or equivalent, in another field, coupled with relevant professional work experience in the investment field
- or (iii) undergraduate degree, or equivalent, plus enrollment in the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification program.
- Must either be a CFA charter holder or be prepared to undertake the CFA certification program.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize and interpret large amounts of financial, market, and economic data.
