About the role

  • Ort Library, seeks applications for a full-time, faculty-level position as the Head of Electronic Resources and Acquisitions.
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle of electronic resources including conducting negotiation with vendors as well as coordinating the evaluation of license agreements.
  • Oversees management of the library materials budget in consultation with the Library Director.

Requirements

  • Master's in Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited program.
  • Experience with integrated library systems, discovery systems, and associated e-resources knowledgebases.
  • Experience with electronic resources licensing terms and conditions as well as procurement processes.
  • Working knowledge of usage reporting formats (COUNTER, etc.).

Nice to have

  • Experience with acquisitions workflows, budgeting, or e-resources licensing in an ExLibris Alma or similar ILS environment.
  • Working knowledge of library analytic tools and usage data platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical methods in gathering and analyzing a wide variety of data, including interpreting financial data.
  • Experience with collection development theory and practices in an academic library.
  • Familiarity with shared print or collaborative collection development efforts.
  • Experience with the responsibilities and processes associated with faculty status.
  • Evidence of professional contribution and achievement beyond the library.
  • Approximately 4,000 students enroll yearly.

  • Salary commensurate with experience; University System of Maryland benefits package included.
