Responsibilities
- Boston Materials is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Mechanical Engineering Manager, Process Equipment to lead the design, build, and commissioning of specialized production equipment used to manufacture our advanced materials.
- Define and drive the equipment development and deployment roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall company manufacturing goals and output targets.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards and best practices for all phases of the equipment lifecycle (concept, design, build, commissioning, sustaining) to ensure high quality, reliability, and safety
- Own the technical direction of complex equipment designs, control system architectures, and manufacturing methods to ensure successful scale-up
- Rapidly design and launch pilot-scale equipment for new process development.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a strong drive to refine designs and manufacturing processes for performance and reliability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of direct management experience leading an engineering team (including performance management, hiring, and budget oversight)
- Experience in a Greenfield or Brownfield manufacturing startup environment
- Experience implementing FAT, SAT, and equipment qualification standards
