About the role
- Be part of a growing dealership and one of the most important teams - the service department!
- PLS Auto is seeking a full-service Automotive Repair Technician to diagnose and repair operational issues on various makes and models of vehicles which are generally 3 to 10 years old.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints (described by a manager); conducting inspections; diagnosing functionality issues; repairing diagnosed mechanical failures in a timely manner; repairing multiple system issues including electrical, cooling, braking, HVAC, steering and other system malfunctions; replacing parts and components
- Understand and use standard diagnostic tools such as code readers and shop software programs to maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
Requirements
- 3 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing used vehicles in a commercial service facility including working in a dispatcher type system and ordering parts when necessary
- A track record of dependable diagnostic capability - references required
Nice to have
- National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred
