About the role
- Reimagine What's Possible Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor for our Marion, IN facility, which produces liquid CO2.
- This will include customer interface, business interface, safety and environmental compliance, maintenance budgeting, as well as employee training.
- This role will require the successful candidate to gain an understanding of all aspects of the site's operation, distribution, and maintenance activities, with specific areas of focus on leadership skills as a front-line supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop talent while promoting teamwork.
- Drive the site towards operational excellence.
- Demonstrate effective management of workload, and respectful communication with the support teams.
- Management of the site's Basic Safety Process and Process Safety Management with a focus on the company's efforts to drive to a goal of 0 safety incidents.
- Identifying maintenance concerns; then developing and implementing corrective measures with the maintenance team as well as carrying out site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 5+ years of relevant operations and maintenance experience in an industrial plant is required.
- Military experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
- Required Skills / Abilities:
Nice to have
- A degree in engineering or a technical field is preferred but is not required.
Skills
- Ensuring Environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products Corporate and Governmental Regulations.
- Understanding safe operating, design, and permit limits.
- Implementing and sharing best practices.
- Investigating incidents and near misses which includes understanding and correcting the root cause of failures.
