About the role
- This position operates with a high level of autonomy and is expected to function in a "set-and-execute" capacity, requiring minimal direction once assignments are received.
- The incumbent is expected to demonstrate expertise beyond basic equipment operation, including chemical selection, system compatibility, coating applications, and corrective/restorative techniques.
- include advanced flooring systems such as VCT, terrazzo, tile, specialty coatings (e.g., aliphatic urethane), and restroom surface restoration systems.
Responsibilities
- The Floor Care Specialist will also support project work including but not limited to light pressure washing, window cleaning, deep cleaning and carpet care.
- In addition, this position supports fulfillment and/or assignment of work requests in the Integrated Work Management System (IWMS) and will support the operation as needed with training, etc.
- This position also operates transport and utility vehicles to support daily work and movement of floor equipment.
- Perform advanced floor care services, including stripping, sealing, waxing/finishing, burnishing, carpet extraction, and restorative cleaning on a variety of floor surfaces.
- Restore restrooms, fixtures, and other surfaces to maintain a clean, safe, and professional appearance.
Requirements

Nice to have
- Experience performing advanced commercial floor care, including stripping, refinishing, burnishing, carpet extraction, and restorative floor maintenance.
- 3+ years of experience in a custodial, janitorial, or similar physical role.
- Experience working with multiple flooring types such as VCT, LVT, terrazzo, tile, and concrete.
- Experience with organizing resources and ensuring that work productivity and service meet UCF quality assurance standards.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and proper use of EH&S-approved chemicals, including familiarity with OSHA and applicable federal/state safety requirements.

- New hires selected for this position at the University of Central Florida can expect to be offered the base hourly rate for the role.
- Position requires a valid Class E driver's license.

Compensation
- is determined in alignment with UCF's pay structure and internal equity considerations.
- This position is eligible for 5% Shift Differential Pay of the pay range minimum.
