About the role
- The Heavy Equipment Operator is directly responsible for safely and efficiently operating and maintaining the large earth moving equipment used in the extraction of limestone for a crushing and screening processing plant.
- Individuals in this role are responsible for keeping a clean and safe workplace and letting management know promptly of any hazards that the incumbent may encounter at the operation.
- Ensure bulldozer is operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Maintain thorough communications with Quarry Manager to inform of equipment status or conditional changes.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the equipment and in the working area of the quarry.
- Perform preventive and light maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the haul truck and in working area of the quarry.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience
- Perform required workplace and equipment pre-shift inspections and document.
- Perform required loader work that is necessary to continue operations including cleaning out headings and/or loading haul trucks.
- Service and lubricate equipment as required including maintenance of fluid levels.
- 3 - 5 years of experience
Nice to have
- Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred.
