About the role
- Austal USA Advanced Technologies (AAT) is a division of Austal USA, a global defense prime contractor and a designer and manufacturer of defense and commercial ships.
- As a Manufacturing Engineer III, you'll play a pivotal role in the production work being performed at the Navy's AM COE in Danville AAT.

Responsibilities
- Support resolution of engineering, material, process and planning issues.
- Support implementation of improved engineering processes.
- Gather and analyze shop performance metrics in order to support a recommended plan of action for production.
- Develop and maintain performance throughput metrics for all areas of the AMCOE to assist in process improvement.
- Support department improvement initiatives.
- Provide motivation, maintain morale, minimize confrontation and encourage positive communication and flexibility within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering AND
- Experience in identifying and anticipating design/production work sequence conflicts required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.
- 18 years or older at time of application
- Conduct and attend meetings as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge reading of prints, technical documentation and customer requirements.
- Familiar with additive manufacturing, welding, machining, metrology, destructive testing, non-destructive testing, heat treatment, miliary specifications.
