About the role

  • The availability of shifts is dependent upon the number of students enrolled and the needs of the students and faculty.
  • Classroom schedules and locations are subject to change each semester.
  • Essential Functions - Provide a safe and effective learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate student training records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the HutchCC EMS program coordinator or course instructor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current certification as an EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, LPN or RN required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to regularly lift up to 70 pounds
  • occasional bending, crawling, kneeling, and general physical flexibility may be required for this position
  • ability to understand words and respond effectively and appropriately
  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.
  • Physical and mental qualifications must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Protect the privacy of students and the confidentiality of training course records as required by applicable laws and standards.
  • Flexible schedule availability preferred.

  • Teaching experience preferred.

Compensation

  • This part-time support staff position is 12-months annual and nonexempt.

Benefits

  • This position qualified for the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) but does not qualify for the HutchCC benefit package due to the part-time status.
  • Provide a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Facilitate clinical education for the EMS program.
