About the role

  • The pharmacist dispenses medications and pharmaceutical preparations as prescribed by the provider.
  • Evaluates medication orders for appropriate medication use.

Responsibilities

  • Documents interventions completed during patient care service.
  • Performs pharmacy related consults based on provider orders.
  • Maintains accurate and updated records.
  • Performs compounded non-sterile and sterile preparations when applicable.
  • Reports unusual occurrences with inventory to the manager or lead pharmacist in their absence.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects.
  • Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required.
  • Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
  • BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB Licensed pharmacist with a working knowledge of pharmacy and clinical applications related to pharmacy.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with math calculations, including calculating appropriate doses for different age groups or diagnoses.

Nice to have

  • Bachelors Required in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy Preferred
  • Pharmacy license in the State of Tennessee, Board Certification Preferred
  • 3 years of hospital pharmacy or retail experience preferred.
  • License/Certification Required: Pharmacy license in the State of Tennessee, Board Certification Preferred
  • Minimum Work Experience: 3 years of hospital pharmacy or retail experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, mathematical, and computer skills.

Compensation

  • $20k-$50k

  • Minimum Education: Bachelors Required in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy Preferred
  • Performs pharmacokinetic services including: drug level interpretation, drug dosing and scheduling recommendations, nursing and pharmacy education
  • Maintains medication stock and stays up to date regarding backorders and shortages.
  • Administers additional pharmacy services including but not limited to: immunizations, wellness screenings, medication therapy management and specialty medication management if applicable.
