About the role

  • As a Marketing Compliance Manager, you'll review marketing materials, disclosures, and customer journeys to ensure alignment with applicable laws and internal standards.
  • You'll work closely with marketing, product, operations, and legal to help bring new card programs and campaigns to market in a compliant, customer-friendly way.
  • This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role with no direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve marketing materials, disclosures, and application flows for compliance with applicable regulations and partner bank requirements.
  • Partner with marketing, product, design, and operations teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical, customer-friendly guidance.
  • Maintain and update marketing compliance policies, procedures, and review checklists.
  • Track and document marketing reviews to ensure audit-ready records and clear approval workflows.
  • Support partner bank reviews and respond to compliance-related inquiries as needed.
  • The pace is intense and this role is hands-on. We have aggressive goals and a lot to build. This isn't a 9-to-5, quiet, maintenance-mode compliance job, and you'll be in the middle of everything.
  • Build the review function, not inherit it. You'll turn an informal review process into clear checklists, approval workflows, and audit-ready records.
  • Work across multiple bank-partner relationships with different regulatory expectations, giving you broader exposure than a single-institution role.
  • ✈️ Team building events & happy hours
  • We're headquartered in San Francisco, CA, with a beautiful office near the Transamerica building.

Requirements

  • 4 to 5 years of experience in compliance, legal, risk, or a related function within banking, fintech, or financial services.
  • Working knowledge of consumer protection and marketing-related regulations (e.g., Regulation Z, Regulation B, UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, FCRA).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to review customer-facing content through a regulatory lens.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented feedback.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, without a defined playbook or daily check-ins.
  • Experience reviewing marketing materials for credit card or consumer lending products.

Compensation

  • This role has an annual starting salary range of $130,000 to $150,000 + equity + benefits.
  • Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, and specific work location.

Benefits

  • We're proud to offer our team excellent benefits:
  • 💸 Meaningful Start-up equity
  • 🏥 100% health, vision & dental primary coverage
  • ➕ 75% health, vision & dental dependent coverage
  • 🚎 $250/month Commuter benefit
  • 👶 Parental leave
  • 🌴 Flexible PTO with a minimum of 15 days off per year

Company info

  • This is an early-stage company. We're ~40 people servicing hundreds of thousands of customers. You'll be building processes that don't exist yet, not optimizing ones that do. If you want structure handed to you, this isn't the right fit.
  • You'll need to be highly self-directed. There isn't a playbook for this role, and you won't get daily check-ins. We're looking for someone who sees what's broken or missing, takes ownership, and follows through without being asked.
  • Own marketing compliance for a growing set of co-branded credit card programs, with direct influence on what customers see and how new programs come to market.
  • Be part of a well-respected compliance team and culture, with high autonomy, cool projects, and room to grow.
