Responsibilities

  • Use consistent techniques & company directives to screen, hire, train, coach, and develop on-site staff
  • Deal effectively and consistently with performance problems; document adequately, communicate with Regional & Senior Vice President and HR and terminate appropriately when necessary
  • Promote harmony and quality job performance of staff through support and effective leadership
  • Develop yearly operating budgets/forecasts
  • Monitor & maintain the timely receipt and reconciliation of deposits, rent collections, and charges to ensure submitted on a timely basis
  • Develop yearly marketing plan and utilize marketing strategies & systems

Requirements

  • Travel may be required for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business-related activities.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements
  • Experience with affordable housing programs, including but not limited to: LIHTC, HUD (Project Based Section 8, Section 236, PRAC, 811 PRA, USDA - Rural Development (515), HCD, HOME Funds and Bonds)
  • For individuals hired to work in California, Asset Living is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
  • basic computer skills required

Nice to have

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or four years experience in the housing industry
  • or 3+ years related experience and/or training
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred

Compensation

  • This position entails travel, estimated at 25-50% of work time annually.
