Responsibilities

  • The Business Management Analyst - Accounting will support/lead program controls and cost reporting for a program in the Machinery Operating Unit within Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector Marine Systems Business Unit.
  • The Business Management Analyst - Accounting will interface with the program managers, functional management, control account managers (CAMs) and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements.
  • This role will work cooperatively with business, functional, and technical staff to support cost estimate development, invoicing, customer proposals, negotiations, and various audits.
  • The Analyst supports identification and mitigation of program cost and schedule risks.
  • Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) tasks including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), cost risk analysis/ assessment and visibility reports, development and analysis of estimates to complete, controlling change management processes and preparing internal and external status reports.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, chart generation, VBA macros, etc.).
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret level security clearance is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

Nice to have

  • Prior cost accounting experience
  • SAP, COGNOS, or similar ERP software experience
  • Experience in data mining and database management.
  • Professional experience in Aerospace & Defense, Financial Services, or Federal Agencies.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • External customer reporting
  • Strong PC skills - specifically Excel proficiency (including pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting)
  • Experience with FAR/DFAR/EIA-748

Compensation

  • $75,800.00 - $113,800.00
  • Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
  • Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
  • The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
  • This role will support the lead with the forecast for financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet), the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and the Labor Resource Plan for their program.
