About the role
- You will work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Risk colleagues as well as TRS Americas consultants-along with outside counsel-to help guide the firm through complex matters with speed, accuracy, and sound judgment.
- The Legal Counsel II position is a full-time role in New York, NY and reports to the Associate General Counsel - Restructuring.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate engagement letters, agreements, non-disclosure agreements, disclaimers, report access letters and related documents for TRS clients.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external counsel to resolve open issues and secure engagement approvals.
- Maintain internal trackers for engagement letters, interim management roles, and risk approvals.
- Provide back-up support for all bankruptcy services provided by the TRS Legal team.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external professionals.
Requirements

- Minimum four (4) years' legal experience required, with chapter 11 bankruptcy experience required.
- Deep experience in contracting and Directors & Officers insurance required.
- Candidate must be willing and able to work outside of normal U.S. business hours as needed.
Nice to have
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and able to work via email and video calls
- knowledge of Ironclad and iManage preferred.
Compensation
- Employees will also receive a generous paid leave policy including vacation/personal time starting at 7.34 hours per pay period, sick time up to 80 hours annually, parental leave, and twelve holidays.
