Successful applicants will typically be compensated at a rate of $33.25/hr.
Placement at a higher starting salary rate within the range may be considered depending on prior comparable, directly related law enforcement or corrections experience.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age at time of application.
To be considered, such otherwise qualified individuals must be eligible to gain Arizona POST certification through Waiver Testing or successful completion of a basic academy.
All candidates must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Attention to detail: Ability to attend to physical needs and human comfort and identify when inconsistencies in protocol exist.

levels listed are based on candidates possessing a current Arizona POST certification.
Out of state candidates may be able to waive a trainee academy through an Arizona POST waiver examination.
However, if the waiver process is unsuccessful, candidates will be placed at the Trainee rate of $29.00
