About the role
- You ensure compliance with evolving U.S. and Canadian payroll legislation, translating regulatory changes into updated processes, system configurations, and communications
- You contribute to payroll system testing and improvement projects, supporting integrations and new functionality across platforms such as Workday, UKG, or ADP
Responsibilities
- As a Payroll Analyst, you will own end-to-end payroll processing across the U.S. and Canada, drive data integrity, and deliver the reporting and insights that help our Finance and HR teams make smart decisions.
- You prepare payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll-related GL accounts, and support month-end close activities including flux analysis and accruals
- You build recurring and ad-hoc payroll reports covering headcount, labor cost, taxes, overtime, and KPIs, and deliver variance analysis with actionable insights to Finance and HR
- You manage U.S. federal, state, and local tax reconciliations and remittances, and oversee Canadian statutory obligations including CPP/QPP, EI, income tax, T4/T4A slips, and ROE support

Requirements
- Experience You bring 3+ years of payroll experience with meaningful exposure to both U.S. multi-state and Canadian multi-province payroll processing, including tax reconciliations and year-end filings
- Accounting Knowledge You have solid payroll accounting skills, including journal entries, GL reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close deliverables
Nice to have
- Analytics You are proficient in advanced Excel or Google Sheets (pivots, lookups, large datasets) and ideally have exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- a Canadian PCP designation (or in progress) and/or a U.S. FPC/CPP certification are a plus
