About the role
- You will serve as a key link between Supply Chain planning and tactical procurement execution.
- Act as the primary contact for site purchasing activities, managing the purchase order life cycle from creation through delivery and invoice payment.
Responsibilities
- Execute MRP buying processes and perform core SAP tasks, including purchase order creation and release, monitoring delivery dates, and regular inventory level reviews.
- Collaborate daily with production schedulers to align material deliveries with manufacturing priorities.
- Support site functions, including Manufacturing, Capital, and Maintenance, with tactical purchasing needs and manage invoice discrepancies and vendor invoicing and payment issues.
- As an Associate Buyer, you will support the tactical execution of material requirements planning (MRP) and purchasing activities for the Winslow Site.
- Elanco may use automated tools, including AI, to support parts of our recruitment process, such as reviewing applications against job‑related criteria and/or transferrable skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain
- or 5 years of equivalent experience in a cGMP manufacturing or regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of MRP concepts, purchasing strategies, and Supply Chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
- What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- Required Experience: Strong understanding of MRP concepts, purchasing strategies, and Supply Chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Top 2 skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to react quickly to scheduling changes, and strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
Skills
- What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
- 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Buying, or Site Procurement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems, with SAP preferred.
- Experience supporting tactical procurement activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory management, safety stock strategies, and material availability planning.
- Experience working in a cGMP or regulated industry.
