About the role
- Technical Resource: Helps resolve problems and answer pre-analytical procedural questions.
- Serves as a resource to laboratory customers.
- Computer Data Entry & Retrieval: Accessions specimens, enters results, retrieves information, enters results.
Responsibilities
- Technologist Assistance: Loads specimen and quality control material for testing on instruments, records the receipt of reagent and supply shipments, loads reagents and appropriate documentation, and performs routine instrument maintenance, specimen banking/storage and disposal.
- Performs maintenance.
- Performs waived testing and EKG testing.
Requirements
- Has knowledge of special specimen collection and handling requirements for specific populations, e.g. infants, pediatric and geriatric patients.
