Responsibilities

  • Own delivery for significant features or systems - clarify requirements, design solutions, implement, ship, and iterate in production.
  • Build and maintain reliable services, APIs, and workflows that support GenAI features at scale.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers through design feedback, code reviews, and hands-on technical leadership.
  • Build systems that are safe and compliant by design, with strong consideration for privacy, data handling, and responsible AI practices, in partnership with Legal and Security teams.
  • The team owns systems end-to-end, including build, release, and operational reliability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience writing production-quality code.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript (or similar), building APIs, services, and data pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
  • Solid working knowledge of how modern AI applications are built and evaluated, including core concepts, system trade-offs, and practical limitations.
  • 6+ years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years building and shipping production systems in product teams.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
  • Experimentation mindset - able to define metrics, build evaluation frameworks, and iterate quickly in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Passion for learning and applying GenAI technologies in practical, production environments.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on GenAI/LLM experience: prompt engineering, retrieval/RAG, embeddings, tool or function calling, fine-tuning, or evaluation pipelines.
  • Familiarity with LLMOps practices: experiment tracking, version control for prompts/models, and cost or latency optimization.
  • Experience with tools such as LangChain/LangGraph, OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, and vector databases like Pinecone, FAISS, or Milvus.
  • Contributions to open source, technical blogs, or conference talks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation

  • For this role, the estimated annual base salary range is between $145,440.00 - $190,800.00 (CAD).
  • In addition to base salary, our compensation package may include bonuses, commissions for eligible sales roles, and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • The actual base salary will vary based on factors including individual qualifications and market data, as objectively assessed during the interview process.
