About the role
- Mentoring junior designers or drafters in best practices and tool usage where appropriate.
- You enjoy working with 2D and 3D modelling software for projects in the industrial market
Responsibilities
- include managing drawing revisions, supporting design reviews, adhering to established workflows, and contributing to problem-solving throughout the design process.
- The role also involves staying current with industry practices and design technologies to support continuous improvement and project success.
- Supporting the development of design concepts into complete documentation sets.
- Creating and maintaining organized records of design files, revisions, and supporting documentation.
- Updating design documents throughout project life cycles.
- Assisting in the development of design templates, libraries, and symbols / components.
- Participating in design reviews and incorporate feedback from engineering leads or project managers
- Communicating effectively with team members, vendors, and clients to resolve design issues.
- Contributing to the preparation of specific aspects of design assignments to meet the contractual obligations, adhering to relevant standards, safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical 2D
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit 3D
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable routing.
- Ability to generate accurate bills of materials (BOM), reports, and documentation.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical or electrical design / drafting, preferably in an industrial, commercial, or construction environment.
- Ability to "buy-up" to 66 2/3% of pay.
Nice to have
- Familiarity of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE, CSA) is a plus.
- Certification in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks Electrical) is a plus.
