Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain process parameters for various plating operations (e.g., electroplating, anodizing, passivation, etc.).
  • Train, mentor, and support plating team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure traceability of plated parts.
  • Identify process improvements and work collaboratively with engineering and quality teams to implement solutions.
  • Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plating Team Lead to oversee and coordinate daily operations in our plating department at our Power Solutions Group facility in Rolling Meadows.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on plating experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Experience with NADCAP standards and compliance is required.
  • Strong understanding of plating techniques and surface finishing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process sheets.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
  • The hiring rate expected for this position is $20.50 - $25.50 hourly, depending on experience and knowledge of the selected candidate.

  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on plating experience, leadership capabilities, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
  • Experience with NADCAP standards and compliance is required. Strong understanding of plating techniques and surface finishing processes.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to product quality and process accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems).
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • May be exposed to chemicals and fumes in a controlled environment (PPE provided).

  • Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
