About the role

  • This person will s erve as the manufacturing engineering representative within the NPD organization, accountable for manufacturing readiness from early concept through launch and production scale up.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own manufacturing deliverables by development phase, including readiness plans, industrialization timelines, and launch criteria.
  • Partner with Product Design & Engineering along with the Technical Centre to apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles and ensure manufacturability is addressed early and continuously. -
  • Support manufacturability feedback loops with suppliers and internal stakeholders to mitigate quality, availability, or scale up risks. -
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the NPI process, leveraging data analytics, feedback mechanisms, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Design of Experiment (DOE) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) driven on manufacturing variations to product design to drive execution of on time product launches within manufacturing
  • He/she will also translate product requirements and design intent into manufacturing requirements, process readiness plans, and execution actions that deliver safe, capable, and repeatable production at launch and at rate.
  • This person will drive disciplined execution through the product development Stage & Gate process, ensuring manufacturing deliverables, evidence, and risks are identified, managed, and communicated at each gate.

Requirements

  • Develop, review, or improve manufacturing documentation required for launch (process flows, work instructions, training requirements, quality controls).
  • Identify manufacturing process or equipment gaps required to achieve launch volumes and sustained production rates.
  • Working knowledge of Stage & Gate product development, NPI execution, and cross functional project delivery.
  • Experience applying Lean and Six Sigma principles (e.g., standard work, variation reduction, data‑driven problem solving) within NPI or manufacturing readiness environments
