About the role
- Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings.
- Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations; Prepare reports and letters detailing the cause of damage for clients.
- Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases to testify about damages and professional liability.
Responsibilities
- Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. Determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design/construction quality or maintenance procedures.
- Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi-party examinations. Collaborate on large, complex projects within multi-disciplinary teams.
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline required.
- 5+ years' experience in electrical engineering field
- PE in state of employment or the ability to obtain one within 12 months
- ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles is a plus.
- 5 years' experience evaluating electrical failures in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.
- Power systems experience (generators, transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus
- Electro-mechanical experience is desirable.
- Experienced working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters preferred.

- $25k-$30k
