About the role

  • This role includes integrating electromagnetic components into highly precise models, transforming raw and advanced materials into finished components, and supporting coating, fairing, sanding, and spray operations.
  • This position also serves as a trainer for employees learning fill, fair, and spray techniques.
  • Work environment: This position is performed in a prototype environment and may require work with advanced materials, coating systems, composite materials, and precision components.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of new electromagnetic concepts
  • Support the integration of electromagnetic components into highly precise models
  • Support setup, cleaning, maintenance, and safe operation of tools and spray equipment
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to fabrication and finishing processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience using HVLP and/or electrostatic spray gun equipment
  • 1 year of experience applying coatings, adhesives, or sealants by spray, roll, transfer, or extrusion methods
  • 1 year of experience in composite materials fabrication and assembly processes
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or lab environment and wear required PPE including chemical resistant clothing, boots, hoods, and gloves for shifts lasting up to 8 hours
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts or related equipment
  • Ability to obtain respirator certification and wear a respirator when required
  • Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Testing experience applicable to large model component fabrication and assembly
  • Leadership experience providing on-the-job training for fill, fair, and spray operations
  • Ability to work at heights and on elevated platforms
  • Ability to obtain and maintain safety harness certification and use fall protection equipment as required
  • Ability to obtain respirator certification and wear a respirator during sanding and chemical handling operations
  • Ability to obtain certification to operate electrically powered equipment, including forklift, boom lift, powered pallet jack, scissor lift, and floor-operated crane

Compensation

  • Associate Level (Level 2): $73,767 - $97,141
  • Experienced (Level 3): $98,263 - $113,224
